Highlights

  • Built an automated Excel workbook using VBA to pull data from the modeling database and compare pre- and post-change model outputs
  • Designed visualizations to clarify the impact of proposed model parameter changes for cross-team stakeholders
  • Delivered a tool that became a standard part of the Change Governance team's review process for proposed model changes

Project Narrative

In the latter half of my internship, I worked with the Change Governance Team to streamline how the organization tracked and documented changes to actuarial model projections.

I collaborated with team leads to design and build an automated Excel workbook that used VBA scripting to pull data from the MSSQL modeling database and from the before-and-after model output workbooks.

The workbook compared pre-change and post-change model outputs side by side and generated visualizations to highlight the impact of proposed parameter changes.

That gave teams across the organization a consistent, repeatable way to document and review modifications before implementation, and the workbook became a standard part of the Change Governance review process.
